Sustainable working at Rieger
Environmental protection and energy
At Rieger Metallveredlung, we define environmental protection as encompassing not only compliance with DIN EN ISO 14001:2015, but also the entirety of all measures aimed at protecting the environment. It is important for us to implement sustainable ecological protection measures.
Electroplating is
Environmental protection
Electroplating is an environmentally friendly technology in itself. The task of surface technology is to provide workpieces and products with suitable surfaces, with the aim of using raw materials and energy sparingly. Electroplating is the ideal way to achieve this goal, as functional layers, which largely determine the properties of a workpiece, are applied to the base materials with a thickness of just a few µm. The valuable raw materials are therefore used extremely sparingly and only where they are really needed.
In the cycle
Climate neutrality
The circular concept is fundamental to what we do when using the necessary auxiliary materials.
The use of an ion-exchange recirculation system also drastically reduces water consumption and ensures the conservation of water resources.
We take climate action into account when using the energy required to produce electroplated surfaces. We are planning to use renewable energy that we generate ourselves. In addition, we use only green electricity. The remaining CO₂ emissions are offset through investments in sustainable, certified climate protection projects.
